Baseboard Water Damage Before & After North Richland Hills

Baseboards are the perfect finishing touch to a nicely painted wall. They are barely noticeable until they start to look dingy. Is it just dust or grime that make your white baseboards look ugly, or is it something else?

Baseboards are made from solid wood, and sometimes MDF. Moderate damage to the wood results in water stains, peeling paint, mold growth, or slight bowing. These issues could potentially make the baseboards appear dirty. Swelling and bending out of shape are signs of more severe damage.

When you have a curved wall like this one, repairing the baseboard isn’t as simple as going to the hardware store and tacking on a new cut of lumber. You probably need a bit of experience to know how to fit a baseboard to this shape.

Even if you were to put new baseboard material onto the wall, unless you resolve the water damage issue, the new baseboard ends up damaged as well.
